Another Blue
September 29th, 2009On behalf of everyone at GBC, congratulations to Jason Risk who received his blue belt from Professor Russell during Fundamentals class last night!

September 27th, 2009At only one minute, thirty-three seconds into the first round, James submitted his opponent with a rear naked choke last night at School of Hard Knocks 3. This makes James’ total time spent in the cage after two MMA fights only two minutes and twenty seconds.
The fight was filmed by NUTV with the video replay expected to be posted on their website for free viewing early next week.

Friday Night Blues
September 27th, 2009While rolling Friday night in the advanced BJJ class, both Byron and Kevin received their well earned blue belts from Professor Russell. Congratulations guys!

Vegas Training Pictures
September 25th, 2009Here are a few pictures from Josh, Jason, and Ryan’s recent two week training camp in Las Vegas. Mornings were spent working mostly conditioning and stand-up at Xtreme Couture, and evenings were spent training submission grappling with six-time world jiu-jitsu champion Robert Drysdale.
The three are preparing for Jason and Ryan’s upcoming MMA fights in MFC 22 on October 2nd, and a pending fight for Professor Russell in Heat XC 4 on November 6th.

A New Day For Kids BJJ
September 23rd, 2009We will now be adding an additional day for Kids BJJ. Starting next week, kids classes will run every Tuesday (5:00 – 5:45), Thursday (5:30 – 6:15) and Saturday (12:00 – 1:00).
